As Apple’s “entry-level” product line, the iPhone SE series has gained widespread consumer popularity since its launch, thanks to its compact size and affordable price.
However, while the first and second-generation SE models became user favorites, iPhone SE 3 sales fell short of expectations. This reminded Apple that adjustments were needed for the next generation: “budget” doesn’t mean outdated, and the SE needs timely updates too.

According to current leaks, design-wise, the iPhone SE 4 finally abandons the SE series’ traditional “classic” iPhone design in favor of a standard iPhone 14-like overall design, joining the full-screen movement.
However, the “notch” remains, as it hasn’t yet adopted the “Dynamic Island.”

The leak suggests that the iPhone SE 4 may feature a 6.06-inch OLED display with 2532×1170 pixel resolution and 800 nits peak brightness. This represents a significant upgrade from the previous generation’s 4.7-inch, 1334×750 LCD display.
Notably, this will be the first OLED panel in the iPhone SE series.
Analyst Ross Young indicates that the iPhone SE 4 likely shares the same OLED panel as the iPhone 14, supplied by BOE and LG Display. Recent news from Korean media ET News suggests it will use the same 6.1-inch LTPS OLED display as the standard iPhone 13.
Industry insiders say LG Display provides about 25-35% of iPhone SE 4 panels, and the manufacturer has already begun mass production.
The full-screen design also means the elimination of the “Home button” and “Touch ID.” The iPhone SE 4 is expected to use the more advanced Face ID technology, a first for the SE series.

The leak claims that the iPhone SE 4 will feature the same A18 processor as the iPhone 16, with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. Such flagship-level specifications suggest deliberate preparation for Apple Intelligence.
Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman’s reporting confirms this, indicating Apple’s desire to extend Apple Intelligence to as many devices as possible, including its most affordable new iPhone.

The latest complete specifications sheet shows the iPhone SE 4 will feature a 48MP rear camera and a 12MP front camera. The iPhone SE 3 had 7MP front and 12MP rear cameras.
According to leaker Sonny Dickson’s previous iPhone SE 4 case share, the phone might adopt iPhone 14-style dual rear cameras, adding an ultra-wide lens alongside the main camera.
However, ET News’ latest information seems to confirm the spec sheet’s camera details: LG Innotek is mass-producing iPhone SE 4 lens modules at its Vietnam factory with 48MP rear and 12MP front camera specifications.
Previously, LG Innotek supplied rear camera modules for the iPhone SE 3. Besides LG Innotek, Foxconn and Cowell Electronics are also in the iPhone SE 4 lens module supply chain.

The iPhone SE 4 is expected to feature Apple’s first in-house 5G modem, codenamed “Centauri.” Previously, Qualcomm was the main modem supplier for iPhones.
Additionally, the iPhone SE 4 includes a USB-C port, IP68 water and dust resistance, Wi-Fi 6 support, 20W wired charging, and up to 15W Qi2 and MagSafe wireless charging.
The iPhone SE 4’s battery capacity is 3279 mAh, up from the previous generation’s 2018 mAh. The device weight has increased from 144g to 165g.

Overall, the iPhone SE 4’s performance specifications show impressive commitment, marking it as a pioneering model for the SE series’ new era: it brings modern iPhone features and performance to the SE line, revitalizing this product range.
With a relatively affordable starting price of $499 (approximately 3,563 yuan), this iPhone will likely become the new favorite among budget-conscious users, with expected shipments around 20 million units.
